2012 Community Consultation
Following the successful household and schools survey in Point and Sandwick in June, with 1,000 questionaires being returned, we are now putting a link on our website which allows anyone who did not receive a form, or did not fill one in, to fill it in online.
We are keen to get the views of all interested islanders, as a substantial portion of our income will be spent on projects which can benefit all our communities, not just Point and Sandwick. So please click here to fill in our survey and be sure to provide your postcode at the end.

PSDT Background
Point and Sandwick Development Trust (PSDT) was formed after a series of public meetings held in Point, Isle of Lewis in 2005 to discuss ways in which the community could benefit from renewable energy. With funding support from the then Highlands and Islands Energy Company (now Community Energy Scotland), a feasibility study identified a site on an area of common grazings apportioned to North Sandwick crofters as suited to a community-owned wind farm. A public meeting in March 2006 endorsed the findings of this feasibility study, and the company (then called Point Power and Energy) decided to apply for a 9MW wind farm on the site.
